About Paul RAFFAELLI
Hello there! I’m Paul, the founder of Gloam. Thank you for visiting, it’s genuinely appreciated. We obviously share a love for AR and creative ideas. So we’ll definitely get on.
In 2018 I was invited into Facebook HQ here in London for a Social For Good event. At the time I led the social media and content for a charity called Changing Faces, who represent people who look different. During the event I was shown Spark AR, the augmented reality platform that all Instagram AR Filters are made on. I loved it. So much so that, after I created an AR Filter for our charity I I decided to leave to set up my own AR Filter Agency. I’ve been deep down the AR rabbit hole ever since.
I’ve worked in creative roles for 20 years. First as a radio producer (BBC 6 Music, Radio 2 and Xfm) then as a social media lead in at some UK non-profits [Mind, Prostate Cancer UK, Comic Relief and Ministry of Justice].
And although I’m the lead AR creative at Gloam. I rarely work alone. Where needed I team up with creative specialists all over the world. Our varied AR skills mean we cover all AR bases including 2D asset creation with Photoshop, 3D modelling with Blender, FX with After Effects and coding with JavaScript. You name it.
We've made about a hundred branded AR Filters and our clients include NBA, Beats By Dre, ESPN, Hitachi, Sony Music, Parlophone Records and Qatar Airways.
If you're a brand and want to know more. Just drop me an email at paul@gloam.io.
And if you're wondering what Gloam means, it doesn't mean anything. I just wanted a really short under-used word that sounded cool when you say it.
